Derek & Bethany - Week 8 - Salsa - video dailymotion
Tonight on the season 19 week 8 of Dancing with the Stars Video Blogger Bethany Mota & her professional partner Derek Hough danced a. 'DWTS' Week 8 — Janel & Val Channel Lovers Romeo & Juliet Julianne Hough said she felt underwhelmed and said the choreography was dated. Sadie & Mark picked Bethany & Derek, who picked the Cha Cha. “This is. This week Dancing with the Stars was taken over by the Dynamic Duo You two together, that was your finest choreography Val. And Janel Bethany Mota and Derek Hough were dressed up as Lucy and Ricky from the hit showI Love Lucy.
They aimed to make a comeback on the dancefloor with this week's foxtrot as Tarzan and Jane and while the performance was definitely an improvement over last week, it was still rather lackluster.
The content was obviously dumbed down a bit to make up for his lack of overall skill. Although the audience loved it and the judges were slightly nicer this time around, we saw tears again on the live show when they got three sixes and a seven. For all my picking on him, he and Janel are slowly creeping into my top spot.
'Dancing With the Stars' week 8 recap: A not-so-dynamic duo goes home
After bringing us a super-sexy although, not well-received by the judges Viennese Waltz last week, Janel and Val danced a nearly perfect contemporary routine this week. It was packed with both content and emotion. Playing Romeo and Juliet, they really sold the whole "desperately in love" bit. Erin gave Val a hard time about his clean-shaven baby face that we never get to seebut that was the only bit of criticism this week.
The pair got a perfect Tommy Chong and Peta Murgatroyd Peta was super tough on Tommy in the practices that led up to the week eight performance. She made him cut down on breaks and spend more time on the dance floor to prepare for his paso doble.
Carrie Ann even told him he just has a magic mojo. Sadie Robertson and Mark Ballas This week we got to see Mark's emotional reaction to Len's harsh comments from last week.

When they left the stage, he ripped off his mic and criticized Len for being creativity-averse. This week, he talked Sadie into taking just as big a risk by putting together a challenging contemporary routine. Going back to Sadie's biblical roots, they decided to reenact the forbidden fruit scene from the Garden of Eden as Adam and Eve.
It was a good routine, but a more sensual performer with even less skill could have really sold it. Sweet Sadie didn't even like a lift that required Mark to touch her hind end. They won the judges over nonetheless. They earned a 38 out of 40, with tens coming from Julianne and Bruno.
This was really a great dance for him as it really highlighted his overall strengths and his personal style. Len also did not give them a perfect score. Those two gave nines but Carrie Ann and Bruno gave them the tens they deserved.

They lived up to that standard in the salsa they performed as Lucille Ball and Ricky Ricardo. As Bruno said, she is very versatile and Len loved the routine as well. All the judges agreed that she has transformed the most touting that she has really come out of her shell the girl does know how to shake it.
The dance earned them three nines and a ten. Dance Offs and Results After the individual dances, Janel and Val were in first place, securing their spot moving forward. The remaining six had to compete in a dance off to boost their scores going into next week. Unlike Erin, I didn't have to stifle my "Maybe you're too short" commentary after Fons complained that the ladder they provided for his rescue was too short.
Also, ultimate hidden gem: Anyway, Alfonso and Witney's cha cha was tight and cute and pretty much perfect to me, though I couldn't tell if they missed a big step near the end of the dance. Either way, they looked great. Witney is everything at once! It's the magic of the ballroom. Bethany Mota and Derek Hough: I didn't love the tired execution of a PG version of The Crotch Bob classic Derek movebut I wasn't as annoyed as some of you by the fact that they stayed in one place for most of the dance another C.
Or any of it! Too bad for Sadie and Mark that, following a tie in the cha cha dance off head judge Len's score declared Bethany and Derek the winners.
Sadie Robertson and Mark Ballas: If she doesn't want you touching her butt while you lift her sorry, it's mandatoryshe probably doesn't want you nude.
I did, however, appreciate Mark's high-pitched giggling at the basic Biblical tenet that if you eat the apple, you're gonna DIE. I liked the lighting change along with the key change -- did this dance seem longer than the others?
Whatever; I was all for it. I'm impressed every week at how She's nonchalant and toned down in person, then comes alive in an appropriate ballroom-esque way during the dances. Isn't that all we want out of a DWTS contestant in the end? Other than for the DWTS contestant to pass the j-bird near the end of the show. Lea Thompson and Artem Chigvintsev: Lea's shorts to complete their Bonnie and Clyde look or Erin Andrews asking Lea how she thinks she ranks in this competition.
Since both make me uncomfortable, let's focus on the real story of this segment: Guy went from cowering, "This should never be taped," to having to explain to the acting coach that he was holding an imaginary gun, to running out into the tropics of Hollywood and full-on robbing a bank himself!
Just kidding on that last one, but he could. The two-minute crash course in playing a character was that effective. Julianne thought their Bonnie and Clyde jazz choreography?! Girl, it's from the '20s. Go read some Faust and think about what you've just done.Bethany Mota, Sasha Farber & Derek Hough's Samba - Dancing with the Stars
Tommy Chong and Peta Murgatroyd: That's why we love him! The year-old teen at heart stepped it up big time for this week's paso doble training, and I'm sure Johnny and June Cash wouldn't have it any other way. Even though he was limping after the solo round, Chong was game for whatever came next.
